When we arrived a few volunteer girls gave us a little presentation about horses. What they eat and how they groom them. They let all the kids pet some of the horses in the barn and then we were off to the sunny outdoors for a little ride (kids don't care that it's noon and 102 degrees with no shade anywhere around).Carter really enjoyed it, but Maya LOOOOVED it! She was mesmerized with them. Could not get her eyes off the animal and she had the happiest and most genuine smile I have ever seen on her. I love this picture here, it shows exactly how she felt and how big those horses must have looked to their eyes. My thought at the time was: Forget about dance, gymnastics or even soccer... lets get this girl on a horse! After all, she does have it in her blood (from both sides of the family).
