Snow, snow and more lovely snow!

Very rarely Charlotte gets to see a day like we had today... granted, last night was quite awful for those of us who had to drive all over town; just imagine going 35mph on an interstate where you're simply following a single set of car tracks which goes jumping from lane to lane as if the white lines where inexistent (they were).
But regardless... today was gorgeous! blue skies and the snow so bright! we got up and went outside to play since school was delayed (yes, amazingly they did open!). We spent some time outside building a snowman (1st time for all 3 of us!) so here are some pictures of our creation (I repeat, it was my 1st time too... so it's nothing impressive LOL)
the last picture shows what Feb.08th was like here in the Queen City... CRAZY Weather!
Enjoy!

Disfruten!

R.I.P. Abuela. May the Angel of Christmas guide your Soul to a happier place.

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here
I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart
I cannot tell you of the splendor or the peace inside this place
Can you imagine Christmas with our Savior, face to face?

I will ask him to light your spirit as I tell him of your love
So then pray for one another as you lift your eyes above
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above
I sent you each a memory of my undying love
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do
For I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

Fast Forward...

So... with all that has happened since the last time I posted anything here I have no choice to do a massive FF and choose to come back later on to fill in the blanks.

Here we are in Charlotte NC, in a new home, new school, new job...
Yesterday I took the kids to a really nice park called Freedom Park here in Charlotte. It was a gorgeous, but very hot, day. They rode their bikes and fed the ducks at the pond, they played in the playground and had a ton of fun. And if that wasn't enough, after the park we stopped at the Greek Festival where we tried some good food, they went in rides and danced on the stage ( I wish I could post the video, but it's in my cel phone)
Charlotte is a big city, it has it's bad things and it's good things... Fortunatelly I'm finding more good than bad, and that's a good feeling! Of course, I'm a 'city girl' so it's not surprising (am I allowed to call myself girl still? LOL)
